ABOUT MY PRACTICE

LOCATION

My office is located across from McKinley Park, in a single-story building shared with other professionals. I work with adults and adolescents from all walks of life who would like individualized support. I provide therapy within a trauma-informed framework, meaning that I do my best to create a relationship with clients that feels safe, transparent, allows for collaboration and choice, and will empower clients by building on strengths. I believe that these components are necessary to help individuals explore behavior patterns, process feelings, and engage in the process of healing and growth.

I take the time to get to know clients when we first begin our work together, and I know that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. It’s important to explore each client’s unique history of experiences in order to develop a plan for how to best meet the client where they are. Therapy looks different for different people; some clients benefit from general support as they cope with life transitions or family issues, while others benefit from more of a training approach where we focus on developing healthy coping skills. For clients struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or Panic Disorder, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) may be of most benefit. I do my best to approach therapy with flexibility, drawing on aspects of various approaches to tailor treatment to each unique individual.

Mindfulness is a skill that I’ve found to help the great majority of my clients. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) practices with many of my clients. ACT helps us to explore personal values and identify the activities that make each person feel good about the way they’re spending their time and energy. When a client is feeling stuck in a rut, unable to break out of certain patterns of thinking or behaving, we can examine those patterns and identify ways to develop new relationships to our difficult thoughts, feelings, sensations, memories, and urges. By focusing on values, we can begin to engage in activities that create a better sense of fulfillment and growth.

FEES AND INSURANCE

The fee for a 50-minute session is $200.

I do accept Health Net insurance, under MHN. For clients who would like to use their MHN benefits, I am able to bill MHN directly and collect co-payments via cash or check from clients.

I am happy to provide billing statements to assist clients in obtaining insurance reimbursement for out-of-network benefits for those who do not have MHN.
